Dr. Lundell retired from medicine in 2003. In 2008, the Arizona Medical Board went after him in retirement because of his books and speeches about inflammation causing heart disease and his outspoken stance against statins. They looked at 8 years of patients prior to 2003. Even though he had one of the highest success rates of cardiothoracic surgeons in Arizona, they callously revoked the license of a retired surgeon. As if that wasn’t enough, they issued a Press Release announcing it. He was the only surgeon whose license was revoked to have a Press Release issued about it. The intent and message was very clear. Don’t speak out against pharmaceutical companies or conventional medicine if you want to keep your license. Thank you for your comment!

I am so glad to see this in print! I have believed this for many years, seeing friends and
patients ( I am an RN) taking all these drugs, and starving on these disastrous diets, only
to either not get better, or die. This article helped convince me that my own beliefs are true.
I have some weight to lose and my eating habits could certainly be better. Now I really
have the belief system behind me to make the change! Thanks so much for your research.
My chiropractor believes this information also and he posted this article on his website.
That’s how I found it. He has always been right….and he got it right again!
As an RN,I have seen the drug companies and government agencies decrease the ‘normal levels’ of cholesterol, blood pressure, and glucose levels, to get more people on these
damaging and useless drugs! It is now proven…

I am a surgeon who retired a few years back because my heart doctor told me i likely dont have long to live with my cholesterol being over 400 (all parameters bad)….that was 15 years ago!!…that was 15 years ago when i was 39 years old….after travelling over 140countries, antarctica and flying to space with the russian airforce..and helping 1000s of orphans with aids around the world….im still alive and well,,, without any statins or medicines or life changes other than quitting being a surgeon …..I may be living proof of what dr. lundell is saying!!…dr. josefu

Dear, Dr Lindell,

I have been waiting for your papers and writings on coronary vessel disease.
As a long time Rheumatologist who has spent a lifetime treating inflammation your comments on inflammatory activity excited me.

In the last ten years our management and understanding has been directed deep biologically into the immune system. We have biologically manufactured antibodies that block specific cytocines directed at various interleukins.

With this experience I have often postulated in my lectures on-inflammatory diseases, that coronary disease is probably inflammatory. I have suggested that in the future all the hoopla on cholesterol drugs will be bogus.

In fact the statins can cause inflammatory auto immune reactions in muscle and joints frequently in some individuals. They are probably more negative than positive for cardia disease. I like your comments on diet and would like to suggest thoughts on treating the inflammatory result with some of the agents we use.

Great work long over due.

Dear Dr. Lundell. . Thank you for this great article!! I first heard it today 3/8/12 on the Rush Limbaugh show. I was totally shocked as I listened to him talk of your discovery!.. I have felt for several years that something is not right in my chest. I have taken Simvastin and Zetia cholestrol medicine for about 12 years. I have known that the cholestrol medicine is bad for us, but could never find out how to get off of the medicine without having heart arrest?. I asked a Dr. Seneff (seneff@csail.mit.edu) about the going off of statins and she did not know for sure. You should meet her because she can verify a lot more things that are going on with the crummy medicine I am taking. I am thinking that she resides in the state of Md.. I first saw her on a Dr. Mercola’s web site about 6 months ago. My question is.? How can I find out more about your postings on the TV & radio shows. I would so dearly love to hear more about your discoveries concerning the heart. You may save my life, as I want to get off the darn Cholestrol medicine as soon as possible. I have been having chest pains (not sure what it is??).. occasionally and my heart Dr.has no idea what it is??. I think I had better find a new Dr. If I shared your information with him, I’m not sure just what he would do?..Probably drop me as a patient. Thank you again for caring about us. I had open heart sugery in 2003, during my recovery I spent 3 months researching this very subject. I quit the high carbo diet all the doctors wanted me on, I try to eat only saturated fats and keep my sugar intake very low. Are you the same Dr. Dwight Lundell who’s medical license was revoked by the Arizona Medical Board in 2008? I thought it interesting that the news report came up along with other references to you on my Google search.

I heard Rush Limbaugh talk about your ideas on heart disease and inflammation today and was very interested. I had a heart attack in Oct. 2007 at the age of 59 with a cholesterol level of 150. My only previous medical issue was hypertension. I had a 100% occlusion of my LAD at the ostium and it was treated with stents within an hour and half after I had chest pain at home and called 911.

I am also interested because I have been an RN for nearly 33 years, worked mostly in the ER and have taught ACLS & PALS for over 20 years. I hope to check out some of your books and see what you say in detail.
